Help Identifying 1930s Japanese Lou Gehrig postcard (Niitaka, Shinkoseika, other?)
2 Attachment(s)
I purchased this Japanese Lou Gehrig from a reputable ebay seller a while ago, but I've finally gotten around to try to get this holdered by SGC, and I would need to provide them details of what set it would be from. Does it look familiar to anyone on what it could be, and are there any guides that document this issue?
When I purchased the card on ebay, the seller said it was a 1931 Shinkoseika Postcard which is similar to the JBR105 Bromide set. I've seen one other postcard similar to this one for Lefty Grove here: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?p=2066953 or https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=295874 or (w/ back translated in post 16) https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=257444 where Brad states that it is a Niitaka postcard. Is that also from 1931? Is there any conclusion on what set this is? Niitaka, Sinkoseika, or something else? Thanks! |
Nice postcard. Hopefully someone from Prestige can translate it for you.

It is a 1931 Niitaka Seika postcard. It was postmarked November 24th between 8am-noon.
Here is a link to a Lefty Grove card I had in an auction in 2020. This example has back damage, but the text on the back is the same. https://prestigecollectiblesauction....ce?itemid=5622 |
