1916 Green-Joyce Origins
Thanks to SteveD pointing me to a new site for old newspapers, I was finally able to pin down the starting date for the 1916 Green-Joyce cards and confirm that they followed Mendelsohn's marketing plan for department stores to sell these over the course of ten weeks in 20-card series. This is from the April 28, 1916 Columbus Dispatch (p.28):
https://photos.imageevent.com/imover...ispatchp28.png I now have a starting date for all of the 1916 department store issues except Block & Kuhl. Any help appreciated. |

Interesting post, Todd.
Are you going to post the dates that you have for department store issues? Jackson... not hardly a normal Green Joyce. |

Nice work, Todd.
Great card of Jackson there! My type for the set... |
Nice Carey card, LL... Max was slight of build and could fly like the wind.
Burgess-Nash... I've not ever seen one of those in person. |
Watch out fellow hobbyists...Todd has another source to research! I imagine we are in for a windfall of vintage card info.
