Allen & Ginter Proofs! Recent find
Hopefully these fish and Bird cards will be allowed due to their unique nature and crossover interest from period collectors. I do plan on posting in the Non-Sports forum as well.
I found these outside the hobby and I thought they were too cool not to grab. In my research I have not found anything quite like them for these sets. I think it is a cool look behind the scenes at the process behind making all the cards we love. Several have differences from he final versions that were packaged in cigarettes. I shrunk he image quite a bit to make it a manageable size for the forum but I'll also post a link to the full size below. Happy to discuss them in here if there is interest but also will answer specific questions maxjcards@gmail.com https://i.imgur.com/f3OhNse.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/2N33gJE.jpeg Large photo album link : https://imgur.com/a/asVCceG |

A&G had a similar process at least for its boxing cards - here's an N28 proof of Young Bibby that I have....

interesting as it's a mixed group
in addition to being unusual on it's own. There happens to be an N28 proof in the current Love of the Game auction. Most likely all one of one's.

How thick are the birds and fish, like a normal thick A&G card or are they thinner? They look thinner, almost like a skinned card to my eyes from the back. Really awesome find, unique items like this are as cool as it gets.
