some amazing stuff and that picture of the collection behind him is insane.

looking forward to seeing the items he has from the Joe Jackson Collection

I have never crossed paths with Rush in my travels, but I have crossed paths with people who worked for them. My understanding is that Geddy is "one of us".

Seems like a great guy. If anyone has access to the Athletic, a great piece on him and his collection.

Amazing guy, awesome collection.

Not bad for a working man.

JollyElm 11-06-2023 06:34 PM

His grandson's grandson with sell off everything else on Bastille Day in 2112 and use the proceeds to buy whatever antiquated 'red barchettas' can still be found.

you must have been in a rush

Wonder if he’s anonymously a member. With the deep interest he has seems like he's certainly enjoy stopping by on occasion.

It's certainly pretty incredible - https://www.christies.com/PDF/catalo...98_SaleCat.pdf

Just don't forget to add $300 for shipping whatever you win from a baseball to a paper clip.

One thing's for sure, it's going to take Big Money to win some of these, but sometimes you just have to Roll the Bones and hope you can get One Little Victory.

I’m not a signed ball collector, but that Sam Crawford auto is simply stunning! What penmanship!

I was at the Negro League Museum in Kansas City last Friday. Seeing his collection of autographed Negro League player balls is amazing. What an incredibly generous gesture.

Schlesinj 12-06-2023 06:12 PM

Anyone else watch/participate? I had it on in the background jumped in a few times. It was not all autographs, he had some photos, programs and some memorabilia.

If I would have been available, I would have joined in on the Jackson portrait type 1. He had a Mendez and Dihigo signed balls.

Shoeless Moe 12-06-2023 06:42 PM

The ones not showing a Price Realised are those items that didn't meet a Reserve, because quite a few are not showing a final price.

Fred 12-06-2023 06:48 PM

Geddy up!

Good to know he's a collector.

Shoeless Moe 12-06-2023 06:48 PM

Very solid prices....on signed balls, photos, game used, etc.

Billyscards 12-06-2023 07:14 PM

Geddy Lee

From my take, a lot of these prices were very reasonable for collectors. I personally hit my mark a few thousand cheaper than I was expecting. Some signficiant game used balls attributed to Nolan Ryan and also the Larsen Perfect Game went far lower than I would have anticipated.

Is the market really that cool for historical items?

Yes, they were immediately “Passed”.

I think you got the Larsen ball at a very good price.

There's so many auctions I can barely keep up anymore. I now track over 50. I completely missed the recent Hunt auction but noticed some sold prices that I would have definitely bid more on. I never even got around to looking at Christie's.

Jewish-collector 12-07-2023 01:56 AM

Can someone please explain to me how the hell one can keep track of 50+ auction houses (open for bidding, last day of bidding, etc,...) ?

Based on the fact that I completely forgot about this one, I don't have an answer for you.

Agreed way to many auctions and to many great items seems to be coming up at the same time and also keeps coming.

The website auction report, as mentioned, is really good and it list alot (but sadly not all auctions) and has some articles that often tell you about some of the key items in them. But again it is not all auctions.

I literally use that plus signed up for email notifications on alot of other auctions houses and then spot check some of the auction websites and in the end

still often miss something

Amazing collection! Geddy has be Giddy (sorry!) at the prices realized, which must boil down to some astonishing multiple of what he paid, maybe 10x, 20x, 30x overall, who knows? And anyone who thinks memorabilia is soft needs to look at this.
