Gentlemen:

I am an old time collector however I never got into game used jerseys, bats etc. Thus I have no knowledge.

A friend turned up the below three jerseys. Can you all take a look and PLMK if any of these are "real" whatever that means. Game worn, authentic, store sold etc.

Hi Fred...

I can only speak to the Braves Jersey. It may have been game used, but it's impossible to tell who originally wore it, as the frayed stitching is suspect and the numbers look replaced.

The good news... The Wilson neck tag and "80" year tag are correct for this jersey.

The bad news... The Braves only wore powder blue on the road, and their road jerseys should say "Atlanta" across the chest (not Braves). Plus the Braves wordmark looks wrong for the era.... it was obviously applied at a later date, and is not original.

So it's a heavily restored jersey. If you have a light table or hold it up to a bright light, you may be able to determine the original number from the stitch holes. If you are able to determine the original number, post it here and I'll let you know who wore it in 1980.

the Braves jersey was most likely sent down to their AAA club in Richmond post 1980 (who went by the Braves as well).
