That's not his RC. 1972 STP is the first regular sized card, 1962 Racing Pictorial is the first PC.

To be honest, I have to agree with that opinion. I encounter similar examples of the RC designation issue with wrestling cards more than anything and it can be frustrating.

That being said, both TCDB and an abundance of sellers throughout the hobby designate the 1988 MAXX as his RC. I'm assuming it has to do with the potential limited nature of the STP release, licensing, or possibly due to some type of regional aspect to his several earlier releases pre-MAXX.

Regardless, no intent was made on my end to deceive any interested parties. Thank you kindly for the post.

Always tricky, but if you go by the classic Beckett definition, the 88 Maxx would be his RC. The rest are XRC as they didn't appear in nationally distributed packs.

No aspersions cast; I just threw out the info.
