Brockelman auction contest w/vintage card prizes - WINNERS REVEALED
4 Attachment(s)
The Brockelman Auction contest is back again for the auction that ends this Saturday, and you have the chance to score some vintage cards as seen in the scans at the bottom of this post.
The auction: http://www.brockelmanauctions.com/catalog.aspx This time the contest will consist of 8 lot # ranges seen in the auction. Your task as a contest participant is to name ONE lot in each of these ranges that you think I consigned to this auction. Those lot # ranges are as follows: 1). #40 through 49 2). #50 through 59 3). #60 through 69 4). #240 through 249 5). #250 through 259 6). #260 through 269 7). #270 through 279 8). #610 through 619 Your goal is to answer the above 8 questions more correctly than your fellow Net54'er. In the case of a tie, the first guesser is the top winner. An example of the format your 8 answers should look like is as follows (the below answers would get you ZERO correct, since these lot numbers are not part of the lot number ranges listed above, nor do these lot numbers exist in the auction): 1) 2040 2) 2053 3) 2067 4) 1240 5) 1255 6) 1267 7) 1279 8) 1618 The prizes are as follows: The top guesser gets his choice of 1 card from the HOF prewar cards seen in the first scan below, AND 3 cards total from the following following three scans. The runner up will get 1 card from the prewar HOF'er scan and 1 card from the following three scans, after the top guesser has made his choices. And the third place finisher will get 1 card from scans 2 through 4. You are allowed two total guesses, with no edits. All guesses need to be posted by 8pm EST on Saturday, October 7th, the same night that the auction closes. Good Luck! Brian P.S. The backs of all the potential prize cards are in decent shape. The 1939 Play Ball player names are as follows: 1st row - Van Lingle Mungo, Bob Johnson, Ed Joost 2nd row - James Ripple, Harry Craft, Monte Pearson 3rd row - Herschel Martin |

Always appreciate perfect formatting on guesses, and so far everyone gets an 'A+' grade, though four digit lot number guesses will not get you very far (or vintage cards) in this contest. ;)
As a reminder, each contestant is allowed 2 total sets of (non-edited) guesses. Have fun! Brian |
Reading is hard...
1) 40 2) 51 3) 63 4) 248 5) 250 6) 267 7) 270 8) 610 |

As the saying goes, why not be like nat and provide two sets of guesses? Because, as another saying goes, why not double your chances of winning vintage card prizes?

Keep the guesses coming hot and heavy, because you all have until 8pm EST tonight to do so. And don't forget to provide a second cluster of guesses because...why not?
Once accomplished, then you can sit back and enjoy splashing your bids around like the neighborhood ruffian at the community pool. Brian |
Contest closed. Thanks to all that participated. The 3 winners will be announced tomorrow
Brian |
Now that we all have had time to sleep in after the auction, here are the three contest winners:
