1976 OPC/Topps what is this card?
Has anyone seen these before the light back card came with a lot of OPC cards that I bought but says printed in the USA it’s got jagged edges but has a light back on like regular tops issues. Was this cut from a box?

A picture might help

It’s probably a team card hand cut from the mail in sheet of team cards.

Hope the sheet is really worth that amount :)

I paid, I think, $100.00 for mine, unmarked and a bit rough around the edges. Now was it worth 100.00? Up for debate, but I bought it anyway. I am still looking for the 1973 Mail in checklist, now that one has been very hard to come by so far. Cheers, Butch. |

I am referring to the full sheets of the 73's and the 76's. They were mail in from what Al has mentioned and from what I have seen after he made me aware of the 73 full sheets.
Sorry for the confusion. Butch |

I found pics of the 1973 and 1974 Topps Team Checklist sheets and both are folded in half like a mail in sheet would be, but what puzzles me is why are there no hand cut cards from these sheets ever found and are there any advertisements known showing these were available in a mail in offer?

Here are the respective card wrappers for 73 and 74.
As for cutting them up, I have no way in knowing that question. Regards, Butch |
Yeah, that is indisputable proof . It’s still odd there aren’t hand cut 1973 and 1974 Team Checklists around, which isn’t a bad thing.

I have both the '73 and '74 sheets as well, and unlike all the sheets that followed from '75-'82, these are made of the same paper stock as the cards that came in packs, so conceivably if they were cut carefully they might be able to pass for pack cards.

All the other sheets seem fairly easy to find and I bought mine (I have them all) for maybe 30-50 each within the last few years, so during the COVID boom. |

I just checked my '75s and they're the brown stock - I assumed they were the white. Great - now something ELSE to add to the list!

I have seen a 73 posted but not gonna get me to go that high for it. I will eventually find one uncut for a reasonable price….eventually……hopefully. Frankly, I will even be fine if it is marked at this point. |

After searching on the web it appears the regular gray card stock 1975 Topps Mail In Team Checklists are common and the thinner white stock is much more scarce, so apparently Topps switched over late in production. PSA lists the regular stock as GRAY BK on some of the flips. ETA: PSA has roughly the same amount for gray backs and white backs in their data base. https://www.psacard.com/pop/baseball...and-cut/120458

I believe the 75 sheet also came with the Topps collector kits (that included the Garvey 8x10). I have a complete envelope with all items, including the news later, photo, sheets, etc. That is assuming you could get them via wrapper mail-in as well, which I assume was the case. I didn't start collecting until 1978 and the only sheets I ever sent in for were the 79 and 80 football checklists for some reason.
