It's raining Beschers
In the last 2½ months Greg Morris has sold some 1916 Tango Eggs cards of Bob Bescher. As in 24 of them, with 4 more up on Ebay currently. He also has sold about half that many Tango Eggs of Hughie Jennings during the same time– I guess it takes two to tango. Now I know that there was a large find of these cards years ago that was heavily weighted or overloaded with just a few subjects, but has anyone here seen such a glut of these or any prewar card in such a short time before? It’s a neat type card to have, don’t get me wrong, but geez.

I feel like I've seen more Tango Eggs Beschers available for sale than all other cards in the set combined.

Wasn’t there a huge lot of these subjects sold by an auction house a few months ago? I’d presume that’s being broken up.

Bescher is by far one of the most common Tango Eggs and it is probably just the winner of this lot dumping them gradually.

Makes you wonder...
how many other future HOF/star players that kid gave up in trades back in the day to get more Beschers? What was he was thinking?!
Or was the lot acquired in more modern times? And again, what was that guy thinking? |

Quit posting links that are rabbit holes!
That's a lot of Bescher's shown above. Quote:

I don't have a Tango Eggs Bescher, but I want to buy one. For the same reason I don't own a 1956 Topps Mantle, I'm always looking for a bargain.
