Binder question - reprint or blank spot

I'm a set collector and keep my sets in UP binders.
Some sets might take a while to get the last card (think 1949 Bowman Robinson or Paige rookie or 52 Topps Mantle)

When a set is "complete" but missing a white whale, would you rather have a blank pocket where that card should go, put in a reprint, or just skip that number and move on?

438. Surrogreat (also Pinch Fitter)
The printout, photocopy or reprint of an expensive star card that you put in the pocket of your set binder in place of the original, because you either don’t have one or yours is kept safely stored elsewhere.

I too am binder guy...my rule is if I don't have the card...I leave it blank. If it's a graded card, I either grab a cheaper raw version, or grab a reprint for the hole and have fun with it. If the number wasn't produced...55, 58, 61 Topps for example...I'll use a cool fantasy card.

Good approach.

I use half of John's approach.

I leave a hole if I don't have the card. However, I use a reprint (if I can find one that's affordable) if I have the card but I've yet to break it out of a slab.

I don't leave gaps where back numbers were skipped.
