Jackie Robinson Memorabilia at Anaheim Burbank Card Show
2 Attachment(s)
I was at the Burbank Card Show at the Anaheim Convention Center yesterday, and the show was pretty interesting. But I was pretty blown away by one exhibitor who had 3 showcases full of vintage Jackie Robinson memorabilia, including some early type 1 photos, lots of signed items like barnstorming programs, tickets, and other stuff. He also had a cast bust of Jackie, which was extremely heavy, and appeared to have been used to manufacture the small plastic busts that had gumballs in clear plastic at the bottom. The back of the cast had the manufacturer's name as well in the exact spot as the plastic busts. It came with a small photo of the bust, signed by Jackie.
I know, I should have taken more photos of this guys stuff. It was all pretty pricey, but very cool to see. Rick Attachment 587230 Attachment 587232 |
Wow. That sounds awesome. I haven't seen a case of Jackie stuff like that. Love it.

Interesting to see the cast metal prototype version of Jackie. I have the Ted Williams, and it must weigh well over 5 lbs.
Below are pics of the cast metal Ted Williams prototype and the actual Candy Container made from the mold. Since it seems on-topic, I’ll also post a super rare DiMaggio Bust made by the same company, and 5 other pieces (Johnny Sain, Eddie Stanky, Johnny Sain Bank, Jackie Robinson single-piece prototype Bust and Babe Ruth Bust)… all from Petitto Studios. Last is the normal Jackie Robinson Candy Container that was available to the public. All of these pieces have become super-scarce. I thought the forum might enjoy seeing them all, as they are closely related to the Jackie pieces in Rick’s post. |
Ugh... need to break out the duster for Jackie's Cap.
I'm done trying to post pics here. Sorry for the ridiculously huge/sideways images. |
If anyone got any additional pictures, or has the seller's contact info I would love to know. Jackie barnstorming and pre-rookie items are a major area of focus for me.
Thanks! |
Jeff, I did get his business card. I’ll shoot you an email with his info tomorrow.

That was a heckuva display. He said he also sets up at the National. Based in SF.

I think a lot of his items would do well in major auctions, but I'm not sure how many customers he got willing to shell out thousands for unique Jackie items at this show. His display was certainly different than anything else there this weekend.
