Won it and got it last month, but took awhile for me to open it. Yukata box for the 1934 US players that toured Japan. Super neat!

Nice addition to my ladies collection. It's actually a very light shade of blue, but my otherwise exceptional Epson V600, won't pick it up...probably user error.... smh

A few new additions.
Cassius Clay decisions Gennady Shatkov in the quarter finals at the 1960 Olympics. I am friends with the person in Italy who has provided most of the unused 1960 tickets to the hobby. I got this in trade. Attachment 589444 Original photo of twenty-one year old Babe Didrikson in Los Angeles during the 1932 Olympics. Attachment 589445 Berlin Olympics daily program for August 12, 1936. This day included the exhibition baseball game. Sayles #15 on the "Weltmeister" (World Champions) team is Bill Sayles who pitched for the Red Sox, Giants and Dodgers 1939 and 1943. He was the starting pitcher for the team. Livermore #27 is Norman Livermore. He was Gov. Ronald Reagan's Secretary of Resources. Amen #4 is Paul Amen. He was baseball coach at West Point 1943-1959. He also coached football and basketball at several schools. The U.S. defeated the Philippines in the quarterfinals in basketball on this day. Attachment 589441 Attachment 589442 Attachment 589443 |
Olympic Baseball
There's an interesting article by SABR about this baseball team, including Curtis Myers who may have been on the team for reasons other than baseball.

Love this
Glossy 8x10 1941 Giants souv photo. Great shape but for minor bend when I took pic before frame. Best is the original POLO GROUNDS label on tube it came in. For now, it's back into it's tube filled. ITS HAPPY TO BE HOME! |
A pair of additions to my Fred Spiksley collection from the Illustrated and Sporting News.
1891 Sheffield Wednesday side. Spiksley’s first season at Wednesday. https://i.postimg.cc/fRhSzHCK/IMG-6427.jpg 1893 England Internationals at Richmond. Spiksley would record a hat trick against Scotland in this match. https://i.postimg.cc/sxh1ySZq/IMG-6428.jpg For more about Fred Spiksley: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50139190.amp |
I know this one tends to go closer to $75-100, so when I saw the full issue on offer for $17.50, I figured I’d take a flyer. A little water damage, but it’ll still frame nicely.
