Anyone not getting their ebay search emails today?
 

Hi Gang:

Every morning I wake up to multiple emails from ebay showing me the latest items from my searches. Today Tuesday 8/29 NADA! I even checked my spam folder

Is it just me or is ebay having problems?

Did you get your ebay searches emails today?

I didn't get any search result emails this morning either.

At least I am not the only one. But it doesn't seem everyone has the problem as so far there have been 39 people look at this post and not comment. Thus I assume they have not been affected.

I looked at this post…but in my case I don’t get emails from eBay for my searches. Just fills up my inbox. I’d rather just manually check my searches on the app rather than sort through emails from eBay. Tends to be faster that way too, since the emails report on listings from the previous day, whereas I can check the app for up to the moment updates.

I also did not get my email notifications this morning...

I have a few hundred searches among three or four different ebay accounts. If I have say 400 searches, on any given day I might have say 60 "hits"

I hear you about filing up your inbox, but it is quicker for me to see the 60 "hits" rather then going through all my searches and finding most not having any new listings.

As for not seeing up to date listings, if you click the "SEE ALL RESULTS" button at the top of the email it will take you to "new" listings posted since they sent you the email.

On the app you can check for new results only, at any time. It takes one second.

This little button means I only get the new stuff since the last time I checked.

If I check a few times per day, then I can clear the results each time. And I usually only get a handful of hits each time.

No email notifications for me today, yet.

I have gotten quite a few things after a saved search pointed it out to me, that I either wouldn't have found, or wouldn't have found in time.

eBay seems to be having some issues lately. I converted a few of my Buy It Now listings to auctions last night. One of the cards seems like it completely disappeared from eBay. I copied and pasted the title to eBay to search for it. It's not there. I searched by my user name. It's not there. The only place it shows in when I look at my "selling" page. Potential buyers/bidders can't see it. I deleted the listing a little while ago and will relist it later.

Nothing for me today either. Same thing happened to me a couple months ago and lasted 1-2 days before it was resolved.

I have seen that recently, cards taking 12 hours or longer to show up where anyone but the seller can see them. Ebay calls it "indexing." It has happened to a friend of mine with Jordan and Brady and Jackie cards among others. It could be the new norm.

The ebay emails are back this morning for me, fyi.

This issue is back for me again. No emails on Sept 27 & 28.

I suggest using the app, if you can. My ebay > Saved > Searches and it gives you the option of showing only new hits. You can check it as frequently as you like. I don't love viewing items on a iPhone so I just save anything of interest to my watchlist and then look at it on my PC.

Same here, no emails the last couple of days - but I do what Peter outlined above, and that works even better than waiting for the emails.

Not the issue mentioned above, but I am noticing some weirdness with my items the past 24 hours.

I've listed a few items yesterday and noticed 0 views (which is odd for me). When I went to search for my items manually, even when typing in most of my item title, I couldn't find them in the search results.

Common now, it can take 24 hours for some things to show up.

I have mine set to text push notifications and have never received a single notification. I will sometimes get a notification pop up on my phone screen for a saved search, but few and far between.

In order for something to show up in a search engine's results, it needs to first be indexed, which effectively just means it needs to be organized, sorted, and inserted into the database before a search query can find it and serve it to you. Whenever you create a new listing, the listing details are sent to a queue where it awaits indexing. For a site as large (and old) as eBay, this can be a large and somewhat time-consuming task.
