Question about PSA grading & cards "which bear evidence of trimming..."

Hi all! I'm about to send in my first grading sub to PSA since 2011 (hoorah for the Oversized card special!), and I was hoping to get some info/advice before doing so.

Part of the grading terms for PSA states that PSA "will not grade items which bear evidence of trimming, recoloring,...". Does this mean that they will not give the card a numeric grade, or does it mean that they will not slab the card at all? If the latter, what happened to Authentic and Authentic Altered? I would like all of my cards slabbed no matter what the determination by PSA, but this has given me doubts about that happening.

Thanks for any info you can share!
Chad

Well except for the Wagner.

It just means no numeric grade. They slab cards authentic all the time. But you may need to fill out the paperwork in a certain way to make sure that happens if there is a altered determination.

Correct. In the comments section I usually write "encapsulate if authentic only or altered" otherwise they default to not slabbing if it's altered.
