Earliest card with x HOFers
I'm interested in compiling a list of the earliest baseball card with each possible number of Hall of Famers up to whatever the maximum number on a single card is. Here's my stab at it. Any corrections?
Number of Hall of Famers: card 0: 1860 Brooklyn Atlantics CDV 1: 1863 Grand Match at Hoboken 2: 1869 Peck & Snyder Red Stockings 3: 1871 J.A. Pierce Red Stockings 4-5: 1873 Boston B.B.C. cabinet 6-14(?): 1881 Randall National League composite cabinet |
7 HOFers - 1894 Betz Studio Baltimore Team Composite Cabinet
- includes Brouthers, Hamlin, Jennings, Keeler, Kelley, McGraw, and Wilbert Robinson. 8? - I believe the 1925 W504 Universal Toy Giants team card has 8 HOFers. |
I stand corrected. It’s 9 HOFers on the w504.
Here’s the old thread where it was discussed (and a pic provided - post 24): https://www.net54baseball.com/showth...highlight=W504 |
I couldn't make them all out from the photos, but I believe this cabinet card should feature 14 Hall of Famers if in fact it has all the regular NL players from 1881.

Glenn - Very cool! I hadn’t seen that one before! I’ll need to add this to my checklist. Grrr…
