1951 Bowman complete uncut sheet

In the next Heritage offering, Aug. 19. Complete uncut blank back sheet of 288. Could be mistaken, but I think someone here was desperately seeking one of these maybe a few months back. Matted and framed, would make a nice wall hanging if one had twenty or thirty grand to toss around. https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...63_422011!wlem

Isn't it 72 different cards, 4 x 18? ETA My bad, I see now that some cards were double printed. Nine cards were double printed, 226-234, so I think that would make 63 different cards.

number

I didnt count, just going by the auction description.

After studying the sheet and breaking down the numbers there are only 36 different cards on the sheet, 8 of each card which comes out to 288 total cards on the sheet. They are #217-#252.

I find it interesting the registration issues are only present on the left side of the sheet, and the right are aligned correctly.

Good catch, Greg. Your eyes are probably a lot sharper than mine, but after looking at the image for a while, it seems like the registration issue is actually more noticeable toward the lower left side and maybe limited to only the first three or four cards on the left side. Perhaps that could be the reason the sheet was discarded in the printing process and thus escaped destruction for 70 some years.

It went for less than half of what they were expecting, $9,600 rather than $20,000. I contacted them to correct the listing that it actually has 36 different cards rather than 64 different cards but of course they ignored me. The sheet has 288 total cards with each card repeated 8 times which makes 36 different cards in that particular series.

Thanks Cliff, for following up on that. I'm wondering if you might have bid on it.
