A Record that WILL NEVER be Surpassed...

occurred on June 25, 1976...

It's truly amazing...

The Rangers and White Sox played a double-header:

The Rangers won game 1 on a bottom of the ninth grand-slam by Toby Harrah.
Gaylord Perry went the distance for the win and, among the five stolen bases the White Sox stole on him was a steal of home by Bucky (pre-f*cking) Dent!

The White Sox won the second game 14-9. Toby Harrah was 3-for-3 with another homer in the loss, finishing a 6-for-8 day with 2 homers & 8 RBIs.

So, Mr. Harrah had quite a day, huh?

But other players have had days equal to what has already been stated.

So , what made THIS day so ONE-OF-A-KIND?

(though it may qualify, I am not referring to Dent's steal of home>)

According to a 1977 Topps baseball cartoon Toby Harrah played an entire doubleheader without making a putout or an assist, if I remember correctly from my ten year old self in 1977.

Add this to the record books:

In 1969, Toby Harrah had 1 at bat, and scored 4 runs.

Wow that is insane and never knew they could be used that often as a pinch runner. THe game sure has evolved

To be clear, it wasn't as a pinch runner seven times in a single game, it was during the entire 1969 season - one AB, four runs scored.

It's impossible to be a pinch runner more than once per game.
