What’s happening most recently with rebuilding the Howe McCormick collection

Sorry for the extremely long post (delete if you want, Leon), but I’ve been thinking I should post again about progress on my revised project.

Originally trying to get every card that Howe McCormick had owned came crashing to an end with the Goldin auction last fall of almost 1,000 that had been purchased all at once around 1972. My focus changed to trying to collect a complete set of T206s that had been owned and stamped by Howe. After getting as many as I could from Scott (the winner of the Goldin auction) and selling my dupes, I find myself 139 cards short of a complete set (there would be no St. Louis Demmitt or O’Hara as the McCormick-Howe Mercantile didn’t sell Polar Bear).

Cards marked with a * are cards that Scott had in that huge lot but I was unable to get at the time. Cards with a + are cards I knew of before that are in personal collections that I probably will never get.

Cards with no mark by them are ones that haven’t been seen with Howe’s rubber stamp on the back and I would consider new, meaning they haven’t been seen in the 20 years since I started this quest.

As always, if you have any of these and might be interested in selling (I have nothing left to trade), please let me know. If you have one without any mark, even if you’re not interested in selling at this time, please let me know so I can mark it as a card that does exist.

Thanks

You have taken collecting "The Monster" to a whole new level. I have always admired your hunt. I am sorry that apparently he had more than you can feasibly get.

My FF Baker collection pales in your presence.

Great progress Ed, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you and good luck!
