Do you like custom card autographs?

Do you like custom card autographs? seems to be a ton of them on ebay currently. looks like a lot of people like to make custom baseball cards and then get them signed by the players. do you like them? I think people would argue that there are copyright issues or that they are not real cards but then i see people say they are "art"

I really like custom cards. I made a nice Roger Clemens that I put the auto off a baseball into. With auto card I much prefer new factory cards with the stickers or a specific spot the player signs. Overall not a fan of most custom auto cards because the autos are usually too big for the card IMHO.

Hey Ben,

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I also like custom cards. some look even cooler than what the card companies put out there. I think for PCs they are great and some are one of a kind items but, Im thinking for resale purposes, will someone say they are not "real" cards or "official licensed" cards or "authorized" cards?

PSA will slab them and authenticate the auto if that is your only worry. I believe we have a member that makes them and gets them PSA authenticated.

As to customs I like taking old vintage cards and making refractor and superfractor versions of them.:)

I don't like a lot of the custom cards that people seem to make and insert cut autos into, unless they have top notch skills (most look cheap), but something like this is great. If there is a back that isn't blank, even better.

During COVID, I started purchasing autographs of T206 subjects. I found myself wanting to combine the signature with the card, like Historic Autographs does. After many months of trial and error, I finally landed on a simple design that tracks the layout of HA’s 2013 Originals. With this Brown from Jim Stinson, I am now up to 225 different “Signature Collection” custom jumbos. If I can somehow get to 260, I’ll have half of the T206 set paired with the player’s autograph. You can follow my progress on Instagram (@signedT206).

I collect the 1961 fleer set signed by hall of famers. After I ran out of those except the real difficult ones, I a
Had custom 1961 fleers made and got those signed ( or cut signatures to add to them) and enjoy that.
