Advice: Worth? Another friend look & see (PICS updated)

Yep, another friend look & see.
So far its one of those cardboard long boxes. I looked at some, seems to be mid 80-s thru 90 stuff from all sorts & types
WhatWho should i look for and set aside.
I already to him, not to expect much, like 5 cents a card, but i take a gander at them.
I will post some pics this weekend.
Then later i talk to him, about selling it here as a whole box.

That stuff is really fun to look at but I usually offer 1 cent each at most for collections from that era. The thing is most of it is completely worthless. The only stuff worth much is the rare error cards from that era.

The last one I looked at I offered the guy $5 for one Griffey Jr card or said I would take the whole box(10k cards easily) if he paid me $5. Not only was it junk era but not a single card was even in NrMint condition. Just a bunch of junk.

Last deal I had like that had between 15,000-20,000 junk wax cards, about 80% of the load. Crap like a 5,000 count box of Pro Set FB (and only 1 Belichick RC). I paid him for the earlier cards and agreed to haul the rest away for free. I couldn't even give them away to my local card store; the owner said he already had a trailer of them. I ended up pulling a small stack of big names just for fun and tossing the rest of them into the recycle bin.

A few weeks ago at a flea market, I bought an 800# box that was about 50% junk wax and 50% 1970s. Again, I ended up pulling the stars and tossing the junk wax into the recycle bin.

Even if it is junk wax and not worth penny sleeves, I just can't bring myself to chuck cards of all-time greats, but I've come around to recycling the rest.

Unless it has one of the junk wax errors or variations, it's not worth much.

I got a couple of plastic storage bins of similar cards from a buddy at work last year - his wife told him to get them out of the house. Kept maybe 10%, including '91 and '92 Topps sets with updates and just took the rest to the local thrift store.

When I brought the bins in our house, my wife put the clock on me to go through them and get rid of most if not all.

I swear that some of the cards I dropped off showed up at the LCS not long after.
