Centering always brings a premium in most cases. Show cards that are hard to find centered.

Pretty much the entire set of E220 National Caramel cards.
Brian (not all mine, but all not even really close to 50/50 centering) |

Here's a nice example of a centered card.

There are only 9 perfectly centered copies of this card to surface in VGEX or higher from the more than 1,000 images on VCP.

Hank Aaron RC isn't a difficult card to find obviously, but good luck finding one centered. This one took me a few years to track down.

I have found this card to be near impossible to find in decent condition, let alone centered; these are almost always way OC or diagonal

This is not my card, borrowed the picture.
I always thought this one was difficult to find centered. When you do find one it seems to be a sigh of relief! |

Agree, Ryan--really a tough card to find nice. Very underappreciated.

1952 Bowman Mays

1952 Bowman Mays is very very difficult to find centered. Here’s a typical one (not mine):

I found the 51 mantle to be OC in most instances

Thats a really nice 51 Bowman Mantle.
Here's a tough one: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4fc5af58_h.jpg |

The 1949 Bowman Ashburn is nearly always skewed to the right.

This card of Hank is always tough to find centered. Many look like these.

I don't see too many of these, well centered...

Finding a centered banks rookie seems to be about 1/10,000. Don't own one just an observation

57 Topps Mick seems to be exceedingly difficult to find remotely centered.

Centering
Agree - 1954 Topps Banks is a truly tough card to find centered. (Unlike many others mentioned in this thread). Others:
1953 Bowman Stengel E90-1 Walsh (they are ALL diamond cut) E93 Brown (please show me one) 1951 Bowman Mapes (legendary) 1971 Topps Munson (and Fingers) 1956 Topps Mitchell |
1976 George Brett #19 is very tough to find centered.

The 1955 Topps Clemente and 1954 Topps Banks cards are the most difficult because the design makes even well centered cards look off centered. The cards better if they are slightly shifted, Clemente to the bottom and Banks to the left.
Other tough cards are rookie cards of Lance Alworth, Dominique Wilkins and Bobby Hull. |

This 52 Topps Campanella is next to impossible to find one 50/50... Extremely happy to have this card as part of my collection!
|
Another dead red Mantle:
https://live.staticflickr.com/4581/3...3eef36a159.jpg I tend to find Ruth's final card tough to get centered like this one too: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2c0ea16e47.jpg |

Surprised no ones posted a Jack Barry Cracker Jack yet...

I paid up for this one. I'm sure it's not quite perfect but it's the best I've seen. Banks is funny because you have to choose between having the caption at the top centered, or the two photos centered. No such thing as a perfectly centered Banks rc. And Mays sure is tough to find centered. Maybe someday, but for now mine is nice in all the other ways at least.

Red Cobb's are tough to find centered

Nice of everyone to show their centered versions of tough cards. Not so tough!

Always a tough one to find centered. One of my favorites.

Took me a while to find a centered one of the great Darrell Evans.
https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5...667843~mv2.jpg I can't afford a centered one of the great Eddie Murray. https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5...87430c~mv2.jpg . |

As a centering junkie, this thread is awesome to look at. There's some really nice cards posted here! It's all post-war, but here are a few of mine where nicely centered examples seem to be tougher to find:

I assume at this point that the 1979 Topps Ozzie Smith RC is a given?

As a few have mentioned, finding a centered Banks RC is extremely difficult. The design of the card has his name and team logo higher up than it is for other players. It's also commonly miscut to the top, which is a terrible combo for those seeking centered copies. The other challenge though with this card is that it's difficult to settle on what exactly a "centered" copy of it looks like. I have a complete set of 54 Topps that are all centered (a rather laborious project). I've had a few different copies of the Banks over the years which fit various definitions of "centered" for this card. The one I've landed on focuses more on how the top looks than the bottom (which is different from how I gauge centering on the other cards in this set). I think this looks best since it has a white background. If if had a colored background like most cards in the set, then I wouldn't pay as much attention to the top.
Finding a centered Hank Aaron RC from this set is also very difficult. Although the Kaline RC is extremely easy to find centered. It's probably the easiest card in the entire set to find centered for some reason. |

Here's a tough one, was lucky to pick this up on BST. - |
That's a nice 57 Mantle. It's definitely not easy to find a centered copy of that one.
|
The majority of the green Cobb cards with PIEDMONT 150 backs are all off-set to the top (as is this one in my T206 set).

The 1948 Leaf Dom DiMaggio is a toughie to find centered.

(EDIT - I just now saw this card was already mentioned near the top of the thread. Oops. Well, it's tough enough to find centered it's worth mentionint twice :))
1952 Bowman High numbers are TOUGH to find centered. Any time a rare centered copy of the Mays comes up for auction, there is ALWAYS a premium paid for the centering. As you can see, I did NOT pay the extra to get a centered copy. Attachment 567884 |

Took me awhile to find one of these centered

These are not tough to find nicely centered, but try finding one centered like this? Quite scarce.... It's in a CSG 1.5 holder now..

Easily the toughest Clemente cards to find centered.
I've shared two of the best-looking 9's in existence instead of the dozens of diamond-cut ones... :D https://i.postimg.cc/L56Sqssj/toughclemente.jpg |

It's not baseball, but I'm pretty stoked about this win from REA last night. These are borderline impossible to find centered in any grade.
