Ross Youngs bat - info and value?

Hello all

A neighborhood friend passed along these photos of what appears to be a Ross Youngs bat - I am a card guy so I was hoping some bat experts might be able to help me get some information on this bat and a rough estimate of value.

Thx all!

Jeff

A Ross Youngs Spalding Autograph bat sold on EBay this past January for $1,070 - a strong price in my opinion. Maybe slightly better condition than your friend’s. These are generally regarded as store model bats since they were available in Spalding catalogues. Bushing’s Spalding bat Guide shows this model available from 1912 to 1925 consistent with Youngs’ playing days.

Thanks for the helpful info... can I ask, where do you find most bats like this sold and bought? My post didn't generate much response so i'm thinking that there may not be too many bat collectors/dealers here.

Where can I point my friend to get a bit closer to active buying and selling of bats like this?

Thanks again -
Jeff

eBay would get the most attention . there’s plenty of bat guys here, surprised there weren’t more responses .
Rare bat , but only appeals to certain collectors so maybe that’s why there wasn’t too much action on the post ,

hi

As the others have said, it's a fairly rare bat. Very desirable to someone like me who collects NY Giants bats. I bid on the other Youngs bat on eBay, but I did not pursue it all the way because, in my experience, very unusual for a retail Spalding Autograph bat to approach 4 figures. Or are others now selling in that neighborhood?
