Angels 3B Anthony Rendon assaults an A's fan

Pretty wild. I have to think he will be suspended for this, and possibly criminally charged...?

where was the game..if in CA they wont pursue criminal charges, he tugged on his shirt and a weak swing..suspension of course and loss of pay though..to even think criminally charged is funny for CA... would need to arrest a lot more people with worse altercations than this before getting to this one as a criminal case unless its just celebrity prosecution etc

Just another swing and miss by Rendon. :D

Priceless comment. Exactly.

mrreality68 03-31-2023 03:36 PM

Not a good look at all.

Not for him or his team or MLB

Suspension should be at least 10 games

Took a swing a week one but still a swing

1952boyntoncollector 04-01-2023 07:13 AM

its still laughable that anyone that identifies as liberal in anyway can think he would be charged criminally in california...out of touch

Shoeless Moe 04-01-2023 07:25 AM

dude called him a bitch and got called on it

no damage done

case closed

Just a really lame thing for him to do. Especially for a guy who gets hurt every year. Anything could have happened to Rendon after he chose to put his hands on that fan and the fan would have been in the right. No reason to create that situation.

BobbyStrawberry 04-03-2023 04:15 PM

Rendon suspended for 5 games.

Not justifying Rendon's conduct, but I am amazed at the number of men now who buy tickets to games and get as close to possible to players so they can to scream vile stuff at them. Really a huge problem with the NBA. What kind of grown man with a shred of decency and self-respect starts cussing out players, making comments about their ex-wife's and mother's sex lives, and screams such things in front of children? I mean c'mon. In the NBA there is going to be bad scenes eventually, as the fans are just too close to the players. Seems like a daily event now judging from clips I see on twitter. I'm not talking about the classic 'Hey so and so, you suck" "nice miss", "your a loser" etc. kinds of stuff that people have said forever. I'm talking the real vile stuff that is said deliberateluy trying to trigger a confrontation and someone's 15 minutes of fame. I mean anyone who needs to resort to insults about whose girlfiend or ex girlfiend or mother was performing which sex act on who should really be talking to a therapist or spiritual advisor of some kind and getting help. I'm embarassed for these people but they couldn't care less.

I'm okay with the tackle.

Fans need to stay off the field.

I agree. Just funny how things usually takes time to “investigate” and then time to “appeal” and then time to reduce sentence.

This seemed like it happened in same business day.

But since the player and the team wanted to bury this fast it was made easy

So if you commit a non violent crime its ok to be assaulted and injured even if zero threat and would have complied with verbal commands (or at least asked verbally before physical)

people run from police when trespassing (look like going to rob house etc) and get assaulted and its common for police to get sued and pay damages... this guy was doing far less criminally..

I thought the on field proposal was a read the room moment. A rarity for sure in todays world and you can say you don’t know someone’s intentions but sometimes you do. Like when that mom ran onto the soccer field to grab her toddler that escaped her. No one tackled that woman.

he was on a knee on the ground and if he was a minority and it was a a non minority leveling him, i think the reaction totally different as well....i still think we will hear a news story of a lawsuit, the fiance did say he was hurting the next day..

whatever happened to the kissing bandit!

We all understand the need for a parent to rescue their child.

As a separate matter, I agree wholeheartedly that far worse crimes are committed and criminals are portrayed as the victim, somehow our police are in trouble enforcing the law.

This speaks to a much bigger and troubling issue with our society now.

agree but i dont think that was not an officer with that tackle i think he was just team security

even if police make the arrest ,the state attorneys still have to enforce the law as well so perhaps thats the bigger issue then the arrest..

heck Bobby thought rendon should be criminally charged as a possibility and he swung and missed, the guard pummeled the guy that was on the ground and had 2 or 3 other guards nearby...not like he was running away and needed to stop him etc
