ebay seller yayareacards
Does anyone know anything about this seller? He used to sell dozens of Sadaharu Oh signed items so many it threw up a red flag for me. He now has 6 Mays for sale. Some are slabbed by a company I do not know. This one has a JSA sticker that isn't in JSA's database. I need a few of the Mays buy unless I'm paranoid something just doesnt add up. Opinions please

Michael, it makes no sense to me. You're right, the JSA number is not in a data base. If it were authentic from JSA why would you get a second opinion from Beckett.
My recommendation is stay away. |
It looks like a plastic card sleeve with the card slid into it and the sticker on the sleeve with no obvious relation to the card in the sleeve. . No way JSA authenticated this . I'd stay away .

Where in CA does Jose Tijero live again? How close to San Fran? Looks like his usual m.o. to me.
...and with the way things have been sliding, I wouldn't put anything past any TPA anymore. Talent pool has been thinned out beyond reason. |

Yeah, it's him. As if confirmation was needed, but compare the Bo Jackson currently offered in this link with ones sold by us_caine (the CAS example) and joti_1475 (no cert) over the years.

yayarea has been around a long time. glad my gut gave me a warning. The Mays came with a beckett quick opinion. I asked him for a JSA and then he came up with a sticker on back and said the letter was on the way but the sticker isn't in the system. I also told him I needed mays on a 1967 checklist and soon after he "found" one in his binders

All of the JSA certifications are not coming up. I don’t know what kind of BS this guy is running. I wonder what kind of story he would have if asked why the certs are no good? They just don’t exist in the database. Did he think nobody would look if they are spending hundreds or thousands on a card? I’m sure he gets one to pass quick opinions every now and then. That’s probably why the Mays has it. All the others failed. The more credence you add to your BS the more likely someone will fall for it.

I guess this means they are forging JSA stickers. Should someone tell them- anyone friends with Jimmie?

Did a google search of his eBay name

I did a google search of ebay username yayareacards and sure enough, found him.
I want to bump this up so that it can be talked about again and also tell of a situation I found myself in with him (he was a buyer). Forgive me if not allowed, but wanted to out an eBay buyer so that anyone that still uses that pathetic and crazy site has the ability to block this guy. His eBay name is yayareacards. I will try and sum this up fast. He bought a "1936 Goudey Wide Pen Premium R314: BOB JOHNSON Authentic Signed On-Card Auto" from me for $37. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325383125262 In the listing, I described it as trimmed, and said it had Pre-certification from PSA, and I even disclosed where I purchased it from (Heritage Auctions). He gets the item, sends a picture to Beckett and they said it won't pass full authentication - so he asked for a refund. I said "Ok, but did you read my description?" - He blanketly said "it's not authentic". Not wanting to make a big deal of it, I allowed the return. He has yet to ship the item (he purchased it September 4).This is because he has October 6th to do so. What is he doing in the meantime? He is attempting to sell it for $249.99 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/404475282624) with the same scan, less detailed description of the card as he is not saying that it was trimmed nor that he was just told by Beckett that in their opinion it would not pass authentication. |
