Wtb Flatbed Scanner.
Looking for a nice CCD flatbed scanner to digitize my collection.
Maybe somebody recently upgraded and still has their old one? As long as its in good working order and takes high quality scans I’m game. I hear the v600 is popular but I’m not very keen on a $300 price tag. Please lmk if you have something! |

I don’t have one for sale, but I have both the epson v600 and the cheaper thinner v370. I got the v370 on eBay (new-open box) for like $75. Works similarly as good as the v600 from what I’ve experienced to this point. Worth checking out in my opinion.
eta: My cheaper one is the V37, not V370. But both are good. |

My 99% use case is for Photos (mostly 8x10 or smaller) and sgc slabs. If you could give an example of an sgc slab and a photo I would really appreciate that! |
Here’s a sample from both. I don’t have photos but maybe a postcard will suffice.

Looks like I will ask Santa for a V600 this year.

Yeah, there are settings to be tweaked. I don’t have these scanners in the same place, so the v600 were from a couple months ago and the v37 from today but probably had reasonably similar scan settings. The v600 is the current and most premium model but the v37 is reasonably capable for my needs. The v370 might be slightly in the middle, I forget (or maybe never knew) what the differences between those two are.

You may want to check Staples. I use the Epson V330 photo and I know I paid less than $200 for it quite a while ago. I do not use the scanning program that comes with it. I use an obsolete program called Ulead Photo Express 3.0 (16 bit I believe). I like it much better than the scanner program as it has easy to use functions like cropping, rotation, paint, add letters and various sharpening and enhancing tools. The V330 also has the ability to scan 35mm negatives and transparencies. Windows 11 did not mind when I installed it on my new computer with an SSD. It did not like my older pro scanner program so I need to purchase a new pro photo scanner for my 4x5 and glass plate negatives.

I have an Epson V330 that has served me wonderfully for some years, until recently when Microsoft, in its wisdom, upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I am not tech competent, nor is my wife, but she is much more capable than me. After much effort (including contact with Epson customer support) and little success, we purchased Silverfast 9 scanner software, but we are still unable to get our V330 to function.
I'm thinking of purchasing an Epson V600, but I'm a bit hesitant. Is anyone here successfully using a V600 with Windows 11? If so, are you using the Epson software or some other scanner software? Thanks in advance for any helpful info. |
Canon Canoscan 9000F Mark II is another alternative.
Check out this link for the best scanner breakdown Ive ever seen. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Eum...gFVdzjffp/view |

Yes the V600 works with windows 11 and some did a great tutorial on V600 scanner settings on the board somewhere. Probably a search for V600 will bring it up…
