SGC Authentic: min. size vs trimmed..what's the difference?

I guess trimmed speaks for itself...if grade says "minimum size not met" does this mean it was out of the pack cut short from the factory? I can't find an explanation of this on the SGC web site.

Thanks-
Claude

Correct. Trimmed means they believe they identified some tell of a card trimmed or sheet cut after factory production. Min Size means that it is smaller than the tolerance they allow for whatever size the card is supposed to be. It may also be trimmed, but SGC couldn't specifically detect trimming. But it could just be factory cut short.

Yeah, PSA has the following definition of it and I guess that’s probably been adopted as the industry standard by other companies. But is not ideal that SGC doesn’t specifically define that designation on their site.

From PSA:

“N6 Minimum Size Requirement - When a card is significantly undersized according to factory specifications. You will not be charged the grading fee in this instance. Note that this designation can qualify for encapsulation as “Authentic” only at the grader’s discretion and if “Auth” is listed on the submission form as the desired minimum grade. “
