Has anyone had any luck getting a hold of Sirius Actions? I had tried to reach them numerous times over the last few months and had no luck.

Sadly I've had the same experience...never get a response. I threw in the towel and no longer look at his auctions.

Same here. There's an older thread about them where many similar comments can be found. None of the listings ever have back scans, and I tried to get information about a card I was interested in that had a MC qualifier but the front was fine so I asked for details and a picture of the back. Never got a response after leaving voicemail and sending emails. This was for a 1948 Leaf Newhouser so not an inexpensive card.

Laughed when I saw this, I have tried on many occasions to contact them to consign since they are so close, have never gotten a reply, good luck

Sirius is one of the most confounding Auction Houses out there.

Let me offer an honest and perhaps contrary view.

I have been a consignor for years.
Consignment fees are very reasonable, even on the cheaper cards.

I can tell you that your experiences with communication are the same as mine.
I can never reach them. Ever.
About two years ago I stopped trying.
I simply prepare a consignment spreadsheet (Card year, player name, card #, Grade and cert #), send it to them, and magically they get listed in the next available auction or sometimes the auction thereafter.

After an auction ends I receive my proceeds by check within 2-5 weeks depending on their check writing cycle.
There has never been a glitch.

If looking to consign for the first time, I would send them a small batch of cards, insured with tracking and wait for those to be listed. Be sure to include your remit to address for your payment. I also include my phone number and email address every time.
The listing of your cards should happen seamlessly although there is some angst when you do it for the first time.

I know; it would be really great if you could at least talk to someone! But nope.
Once your first batch has been listed they have an account set up for you automatically and you can then rinse and repeat for subsequent consignments with some comfort.

As a Bidder, Sirius is great. Every item starts at $1 with very reasonable increments and they have one of the lowest buyer premiums in the auction game which makes them very attractive.
Its also a great place if you are bottom feeder for slabs.

After you send your payment you receive your cards in very short order.

Yes it is correct, there are no back scans and that might be more concerting for the consignor too if you've got #'d modern refractors. Most of those are numbered on the back and not mentioned on the PSA flip.
Great bargain hunting on those for bidders.

Overall; the lack of communication is a huge negative. Everything else about Sirius though makes me a willing consignor and active bidder.

Ray did an excellent job of summarizing my experience with Sirius. As a consigner, my experience is a couple of years out of date, but it sounds like nothing has changed. I think their auctions get decent prices even for 4-figure cards. BUT, post war only. Lack of back scans are a nonstarter for pre-war cards, so I wouldn't consign pre-war cards and I approach bidding on them very reluctantly.

Considering their apparent lack of interest in providing any additional information about a listed card to an interested bidder, I'm not sure why you would want to consign anything with them. It would seem likely that failing to answer questions or provide requested information would make a bidder less likely to bid on an item and therefore, make it harder to realize maximum value for a listing.

In my own experience, because I couldn't find out more from them about the back of a 1948 Leaf Newhouser that was a PSA 3 with a MC qualifier and a front that looked fine, I didn't bid on it and, if I remember correctly, it ended up selling for around $1800. A few weeks later, I saw it listed on eBay for around $4500. The listing included a back scan that showed there was a copyright line at the top and bottom of the card which was the apparent reason for the qualifier. Had I known that was the reason for the MC, I would have bid higher on the Sirius auction and the consigner would have made more money from the listing.

There are many other AHs out there that provide excellent customer service, and even if their BP is higher (I just checked and Sirius is pretty low at 12.5%), I would think for any listing that may require some questions to be answered, you would be better off consigning with an AH that would provide those answers. Maybe it doesn't matter for Sirius most of the time since it seems like they usually only have graded cards listed, but I personally like to see the back of a card before I buy it even if it is graded with no qualifier so my previous experience with them has made me unwilling to participate in any of their auctions.

Why would someone choose to run a business so poorly? Rather confounding. Only thing that comes to mind is possibly the operator has something serious going in their life illness wise or family wise that it a huge drain and limits what they can do. But even in such a case maybe hire someone to help out?

Hold on a second. I would be slower to characterize it as a poor business, just because it does not appeal to you. Look at it more like Dollar General. Low fees; self service. I have always assumed they either were or had clients who were in the business of buying sets (probably at other auction houses) and then offering the individual cards. I think they are competent and honest but focused on what they do, which is not for everyone.

It's apparently been like this for a few years so I don't think illness or family issues are likely explanations. It seems like this is the business model they have which apparently is successful enough to keep them in business. It's not for me but there must be enough people interested in bidding still even without any customer service.

They refuse to communicate with people who want to consign to them, or with people wo want to buy from them. Does that sounds like a reasonable way to conduct business?

It would if they had a disclaimer that read "we have customer service aversion and won't communicate with you under any circumstance, to compensate for that we only charge 12.5 bp, if back scans and communication are worth more to you than 7.5% go somewhere else".

Pretty much …the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for them. Look at the numbers they get, they knock it out of the park. Check their last auction that ending big numbers on 56 Jackie in a PSA 8 69 Mantle PSA 8 and a 54 Jackie PSA 8.

Back scans communication haha screw that it’s 2023 in the sports card business, people are addicted to having to have have cards and they will pay up either way. It’s just the reality of it. I don’t even get upset with it anymore, why bother.

Sterling is fantastic, as are many eBay sellers like 4 Sharp and Greg Morris.

A simple email thanking you for your consignment goes a long way. Not with Sirius, which is truly a mind-boggling auction house.

A net 54 member told me the owner is now selling card saver products. Maybe he is busier with that business? Sounds like he is burning the candle at both ends.
