Grading Dual Patch Auto's
What is your preference for dual patch / auto cards? Every one I have purchased (not many) was company sealed in a case but typically graded in the 8 or 9 range with a few 7's. All cards appeared to be centered and without print defects.
Does the "patch" portion of the card make these difficult to grade for some reason? What are others experience with this? |
Personally I like to see stuff issued in a company sealed case still in that case.
But I'm not into the whole grading thing. |

Yes the patch part of the card can hurt the overall grade because it can cause wrinkles/bumps in the cards surface. |

Do they down grade Topps embossed because they're embossed? Or the Pro set? autographs because they have the pressed authentication logo? |
It's just mysterious to me as as to how they grade cards. Up until 8 months ago I had not had any card graded. I guess I keep patch auto's in their factory holders if I buy any more.

Most patch autos, because of their thicknesses, are relegated to PSA 8s. Worse if they have mini-creases at the patch window.
