FS: 17 1900s Detroit Tigers Postcards incl. Sam Crawford (Unknown)
Picked these up recently, and would love for them to go to postcard/Tiger collector. If anyone knows anything about them - please chime in. I am no where near an expert on postcards.
They were never mailed, but the owner wrote player names on the back as well as some other notations (years played, position, etc). Includes T206 subjects like Donovan, Crawford, Schmidt, Mullin, mcguire, and carr Price is $375 or best offer for the lot. Dont hesitate to send offers, i dont know if thats a good price or embarrassingly exorbitant. PayPal FF is preferred. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2ed3a17569.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6966a629af.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8e9bb1a04e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8490bbd3ea.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1727fddc71.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b05a603f6e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ed86c66b22.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5fffbf170f.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dcb5687514.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...37e256eef2.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Cool postcards! Based on the back, they were probably printed in the 1970s. I have never seen them before. Good luck with your sale.

These are very cool indeed and I don't recall ever seeing postcards like these before.
According to this Ephemera site, the earliest these Kodak photo postcards would date to is around the 1950's based on the wording and configuration of the back. https://www.doaks.org/research/libra...-kodak-company Maybe these were custom made? If so, they were very well done. I'm soooo tempted..... |
Like stated before, these were not made during their playing days, if so, I'd be interested. Just photos placed on a later date postcard. Or a fantasy item. Good Luck

Images originated from 1903-04 as Ed Barrow pictured was their field manager for only those two seasons. Also, includes Crawford which makes sense but a couple of years before Cobb joined the Tigers, thus why he is not included. I agree, 60’s-70’s as date of production looks right.
Just noticed the hand written years on the back, consensus looks to be 1903 is the winner. |
Awesome collection! I love the subtle differences in their hair styles!
Lelands thought they were 50's-60s. Not sure if that helps (or how accurate their ids are). |
Appreciate all the help guys. Truly accidentally bought these. I put placeholder bids on a lot of things, as I usually do, and only looked at the title and thought they were cool.
