F. Hutchinson H&B decal bat info

4 Attachment(s)
Hi, looking for info on a H&B 125 Powerized Genuine F Hutchinson bat from 1934-49 with a decal on the handle. Not sure if the decal is original or an add on. The decal looks to be some kind of original decal. The bat is 35”, 34oz. I cannot find another one anywhere. “Hutch” has the MLB cancer award named after him, surprised I can’t find another bat. Nice deep stamping, maybe a game model? Lots of wear. There is a crack in barrel, repaired with nails. Also, looks like 1/3 of the knob was cut off if that means anything. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Rick

Hi-

I do not believe the decal is original to the bat as I am not familiar with any bats of that era having a decal. What is on the knob itself? The damage to the knob is not too unusual as a lot of older bats have similar issues. If the knob does not have inch marks (35" or 5 or something like that) and instead is either blank, or has a model number (S166 or something like that) it is most likely a gamer. Other members will be able to provide more information, especially if you post it in the regular Memorabilia section (this post is in the BST memorabilia section).

Nice Bat! I would assume it's a gamer since it's a block letter. Very tough pitchers bat congrats!!!

It seems to me that it's an old Indians decal

The Chief Wahoo decal is interesting. Best guess yet. The bat is in the Cleveland area so perhaps. Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated.

Is there a model # on the part of the knob that is remaining?
