A podcast on the “Vintage Baseball Collector” - your thoughts?
Good morning all -
I’m considering creating and organizing a podcast for vintage baseball collectors. After a recent visit to Cooperstown (and a VERY long drive home with time to think 😵*💫), I thought it might be a fun idea to organize a low tech, collector focused, live (but recorded) conversation 2-3 times a month where we talk about experiences we have in the hobby, specifically focused on the vintage baseball collector. I am in the early stages of planning (though I have lots of ideas already!) and would love to hear from you: - topics that would be fun to you? - format… expert interviews? Live chat questions? Visuals (shared screen, etc) - live and recorded for anyone interested to listen in but not available at the live scheduled time - other programs that you have heard… likes, dislikes, etc. This is intended to be organized for collectors, by a collector… so, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks all (and let me know if you’d like to be a future guest of this show that I haven’t started yet! Honestly - the expertise and “characters” I have gotten to know and enjoy here on Net54 is what inspired me to explore this) Looking forward to hearing your thoughts… Jeff (Belfast 1933) Gross |
I would love it if it were collector focused. Not so much if it was about investments and grading

Definitely be interested.
Just actually bought a decent mic as one of my goals this year is to get a podcast up and running on sports, vintage baseball, and a few other topics. Would be fun to sync up and pick each other’s brain to see how we plan on doing that! Matt Galvin |
hi jeff theres hundreds of these on you tube,so think about that

Jeff, I think its a cool idea. Personally, I think it would be best if you conducted 30 minute interviews with collectors, auction houses, TPG employees, and others with a roll in the industry (like Leon/Net54 or BODA peeps, etc)

If you start it, I'll be a listener. Keep us posted if you decide to give it a shot.

What would even be better would be a Zoom with a limit of say, 15 or so participants of collectors, auction houses, TPG, magazine authors, etc,... where everyone can be on camera if they want.

I agree that 30 min interviews would be great. I would love to hear from TPG and AH folks but also from regular collectors like you say. Fun!

Great idea I’d definitely be a listener. I collect a few vintage tickets the guys at Talking Tickets get better every time I watch them. They had Beckett on last night speaking about their new ticket grading service. They also interview collectors and talk about auctions. I like their format. Here is a link to a previous show.
