Babe Ruth Sale to Yankees Promissory Note $25k Lelands
 

Did anyone see the personal copy of one of the $25,000 promissory note at Lelands last night? It had an underlying 6% rate.

It was part of the Barry Halper collection that was originally sold by Sotherby's in 1999. I did some researching last night and saw an original of one of the additional three sold at Goldin for $150k (previously selling by REA in 2007 for $44k).

I thought it was an amazing item. They also had a cover letter for sale as well.

Incredibly awesome. And I didn't know about it at all.

I had an early placeholder bid, and it was still around $3K the morning of the last day, so I thought I might have a shot. Then in the evening it took off - great unique piece of memorabilia!

I saw it and really wanted it but of course timing is everything. I now is not right for me

That is an amazing piece and will be great in someone's collection.

I think it went for a good price but good have easily gone for more (especially if a nut like me continued to bid on it)
