PSA Ticket Grading Question

Ok, so I failed in my attempt to have PSA grade & encapsulate some of my tickets. I sent them 11, and at the moment they are only proceeding on grading 4 of them. I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong, but after chatting with some others in a Facebook group, I think that I
a) Expected more from PSA (either in terms of what they do in research, and in terms of what I thought they would label)
b) Should have shared my own research with them

So it seems one issue I had was that a number of the tickets didn't show the *exact* game it was for (which seems to be typical of older tickets). I had thought though, that I would be getting a less specific label.

For example, here's my rejected ticket (on the left), compared to a very similar one that PSA graded in the past:

Is there a reason why they wouldn't just label mine similarly?
1915 Federal LG - Newark
Set 9 / Grand Stand

And if they were able to label tickets with just generic years, I thought that this one would have been fine. There's no year mentioned, but Steininger was only president in 1914. Was I supposed to share this info with their researcher?

So, I still have questions.
- Did their policy change? (which would explain them not grading it)
- Did I need to point to them exactly where to look and what to match?
- Would they accept a link/printout to a major auction house (i.e. Robert Edwards) that says "Our research says that this ticket is from X date"?

Hope this helps

Thanks, yeah, it's a confusing list, but does explain one denial I got. One of the tickets (that I didn't mention above) evidently was for a 1913 Pirates game that wasn't played. They agreed to grade the bottom ticket, but someone told me today that the top ticked was denied because the game wasn't played. Haven't looked into the history of why....

It is also appropriate to note that PSA's main ticket grader has recently left PSA.
I'm not sure who is now grading tickets.
It's probably a good idea to offer your insight on the significance of the tickets that you are considering slabbing.
I wouldn't expect too much from PSA other than taking your money. ;):D

Why do you feel you need to have the tickets graded and slabbed?

Always the "gentleman"... Scott said it much more politely than I would have. They are more expert at separating you from your wallet than any other "skills" they might possess.

How long did PSA make you wait for those results (or lack thereof?)

This took about a month to get to this stage, and then they'll spend a few more months grading the remaining ones.

As for why I want them slabbed, there's a variety of reasons. In no particular order: appearance/aesthetics, safety, insurance, ease of future sale, etc.

And in my latest reply from them, asking if I should have sent over my own research, PSA said:

no additional information necessary as our team processed each item as it stands alone, without any additional documentation to keep the process transparent and cause no biases.

Okay... thanks, and good luck with it. Hope you get the results you're hoping for!
