Favorite US coins

Without regard to value, just aesthetics. My top 5 would probably be the St. Gaudens $20, the Indian Head $10, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, the Liberty Cap Large Cent, and the Peace Dollar, but it's so hard to name just 5.

Coming from somebody who doesn't collect or know anything about coins. I've always loved the Sacagawea Dollar.
I know it's modern so probably not a very popular choice for most. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0a51f243b2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6951eb7d24.jpg |
Gold is always cool.
I really like the 20 cent piece 3 cent piece (silver) tiny little buggers Half dimes Fugio cent And the one I like the most are the silver trade dollars with chop marks. So freaking cool if you ask me. With a hat tip to the inverse Indian headed gold coins. The inverse is really a neat design. |
In addition to the ones Peter mentioned, I'm partial to the Seated Liberty quarter, half dollar and dollar.
Dangit Peter; this thread is making me want to go buy a Double Eagle! |

Scan is not the greatest but here are the ones I have.
I have not picked up a Fugio Cent just yet. The vdi numbers are for metal detecting. That is what they register on my Whites Metal Detectors. Trivia question: What is unique about the US Trade Dollar coin verses all other US coins? |

Seated Liberty, Civil War style.
|
Those are awesome Peter. I would love to get a Confederate run of coins. But that will simply never happen for me. I can just be happy with the Civil War tokens, those are cool too!

Would be Barber's for me. Had complete high grade raw Dime and Quarter sets at one time and nice mid-grade Half Dollar set. All long since gone. Have a few graded that I have picked up over the years.
If it was world coins and pre-war (Revolutionary) the Medieval Thaler or Dollar coins are to my liking. |
