Quick PSA submission question

I am sending a group of cards to PSA at the Value Bulk level (pre 1979). Can I submit larger cards like Red Mans, 55 doubleheaders, exhibit cards, t202s in the same order? Or would they be submitted as super sized cards? I’ve tried to read the instructions but can’t come up with a clear answer. Thanks in advance….

My experience is that you can submit larger sized items like Red Man and exhibit cards, but not jumbo items. There's an additional charge for jumbo, so those get submitted separately.

Nicolo is correct. I submitted an order for unusual shaped cards that got graded in PSA's slightly "larger" holders and was not upcharged. If they have an issue with the size of the card your regular submission will be put on hold (for quite a while if it is vintage) until they get authorization from you for an upcharge to grade and encapsulate in a Jumbo holder.

I haven't ever sent these kinds of cards together but I'm pretty sure exhibits and Red Man fall into the supersized category based on the size.

In the past supersized and regular were the same price so I would imagine no upcharge makes sense.

Currently the minimum grading price level for supersized is $75 (that's a price increase that they hid when lowering the value level to $25).

So I would be surprised if you didn't get an upcharge and a long wait because of it, but that is just a guess.

Please report back if you do send them together.

Good catch! I hadn't seen that price increase at the supersized level. Sneaky blighters.

Based on the PSA website, these sizes should all qualify to be lumped together:

Regular or Small-Sized Cards (2-11/16" x 3-13/16" and under)
Modern Memorabilia Cards (Thick/Patch)
Tallboy Cards (3-1/2" x 5-1/8")

So it's probably just a question of whether your larger cards will fit into the tallboy cases or not. I thought the Red Man and Exhibits generally fit into that holder.

I think you are right on the Red Man once I rechecked the size.
I know many exhibits are 1/2 in taller than they say is the max at 5 3/8 with 5 1/8 being the max on the website, but like I said I haven't ever send in the order together to see.

I did compare my exhibits to my other tallboys and it doesn't look like it will fit, but it's super close.

I went through this same question 2 weeks ago with my value order. I decided to just not send my exhibit and Worch Cigar similar sized cards because I didn't want to risk any upcharges or delay.

I guess it all depends on the exhibits!

Here are a couple of mine that are in the same holders as my red man cards.

I am sending Red Man’s, exhibit cards, and 55 Topps doubleheaders mixed in with my regular vintage cards. Since I’m sending in at the value level I probably won’t hear for months but will report back when I do.
