just picked this up. Thought it was cool, but have no idea of origin. Its a Falstaff lighter, by Park, w a Pee Wee Reese name on back. I figure its inscribed, as it is in transit. Anyone seen one? thx. Scott

Interesting. As you may know, Falstaff was a St. Louis brewery. They later expanded to Northern CA, among other places. They were BIG sponsors of the Giants in the Giants early SF years. I don’t know of any Falstaff/Dodgers connection. Pee Wee was born and died in Kentucky. I have seen and own some lighters with facsimile signatures but can’t explain why Pee Wee would be on a Falstaff lighter. So, I guess, you can thank me for nothing. :p

A cursory google search tells me Falstaff sponsored CBS' Game of the Week around 1963-64, to which Pee Wee Reese called games with Dizzy Dean. They produced various advertisements including a postcard in 1964 (not mine) seen below.
I would imagine the lighter is on the spectrum anything from a promotional tie-in item to a product Falstaff gave to Reese himself? https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/VnAAA...Hx-/s-l400.jpg https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...CQ&oe=63ED9951 |

I’ve never seen those lighters but Falstaff must have provided them while Pee Wee was in their employ. |
