Hello all, I'm new member on the forum. I've been collecting since my first pack in 1984. My grandfather got me Topps complete sets for my birthday starting in 1985. By 1986 I was a young subscriber to SCD, interested in pre-war.

I'm a Cubs fan with a healthy distaste for the White Sox. As a kid, every time we drove past Comiskey Park, I'd turn my head away and cover my eyes! My dad and grandfather, both born in Brooklyn, were Dodger fans and Yankee haters, which no doubt tainted my view of the Sox. :)

My collection focuses on the 1907 & 1908 Cubs teams and the Black Sox. I collect them exclusively in Chicago uniforms.

Here are some type 1s I snapped in 2016.

Welcome Jeff!

Too bad you won't be getting any similar Cubs pix anytime soon.

Merry, Happy, etc.

Every thread needs a 'card', and this one seems fitting...

Welcome to the board from a fellow Cubs guy. Nice pictures. I was fortunate enough to go to Game 2 at Cleveland.

Welcome to the asylum, Jeff;
there are all types here and they are all cool.

I grew up here in the Chicago area during the era of the loveable losers; '69 Cubs;
attended many Cubs Conventions with my wife and friends; wife has a ball signed by as many '69 Cubs team members that we could locate each year.

I swim in the 1910's and 1920's pools; seem to fancy the battery-mates angle. I completed my E98 Johnny Kling color run; won a 3 Finger Brown (Green) at auction; might as well do a battery-mate color run; Woo-Hoo!

May I suggest taking a look at the T213's to expand your horizons. Same era - Some SUPER tough, low pop cards, Federal league, glossy fronts.
