How many auction houses did you buy from in 2022?

It seems like there was a constant barrage of auctions in 2022.

How many auction houses (including Ebay, but not including live auctions on Net54) did you buy from in 2022?

And yes, I meant 2022, not 2021.

Maybe 5-6

Two for me, harder to find deals with all the fees added.

0 for me. There is way too much to buy at antique shops and flea markets for me to even consider auctions. Just last week I found an 1869 Beadle baseball guide at an antique shop and a few weeks before that I found an incomplete Lawson baseball card game from the 1880s at the same shop. It is much more fun to find these items antiquing as opposed to sitting at the computer and clicking on auctions.

3 for me. I recently blocked one of the 3 because I was just getting way too many emails from them.

Geez, 17 for me (and I'm sure I missed a couple).

LEHR 12-13-2022 08:41 AM

Four for me.

REA, Heritage, Love of the Game, and RMY.

riggs336 12-13-2022 08:56 AM

Somewhere between 11-14. I'll say 12.

Ebay
Huggins and Scott
REA
The Collector Connection
Brockelman
All Sports

Surprisingly, nothing from Sterling yet this year, but they do still have one more left. :)

6. And the number seems to go up every year ...!

Exhibitman 12-13-2022 11:00 AM

Seven. Three of them were one-off single auctions, though. The only ones I seem to buy from regularly are LOTG, REA and Sterling.

actually had not thought about it.
I know I placed bids (so you are in the game for extended time) on every auction that I can think of and always had different tabs open on web browsers during the active auctions
Actually buying from Auctions less than 6.
Some Great luck in private sales/trades many with some great members that I met on this forum

Well, I'm just glad I'm not the only one that bought from more than 12 auction houses. But I think I'll make it a New Years resolution to slow down a bit.

Unfortunately, I feel like I don't get to buy from my favorite auction houses as much as I'd like, because they get such good prices that there are few bargains there.
I ended up getting cards from some pretty obscure auction houses.

Bid on several, won none. The prices are way too high for my budget and everyone wants top money instead of helping collectors. Only dealers and investors left, unless you have deep pockets to be a collector. Maybe it's me and my current wantlist is just too expensive. Sure was a lot of collections coming up for auction this year. Mom didn't throw out all the cards.
