Please feel free to educate me here, but I think of decal bats as being store model bats that were available to the public. I collect J.F. Hillerich&Sons bats with player decals, but don’t think of them as “professional model”. Which professional model bats were issued with decals?
|
As far as I'm aware the following bats were issued store model and professional model(with Joe Jackson being questionable whether he had a Pro Model. Ive never seen or heard of one and neither has several other bat collectors I've quizzed over decal bats). I picked up a Joe Jackson retail decal because I honestly dont think he had a pro decal.
In short "Made By" on the bat will be considered pro model meaning it was made for that particular player whos decal is on the bat OR another player who wanted to use that particular bat style. Any of the "40" model bats aren't considered pro model although I think there has been some photographic proof that some have been used in professional games before. I have a Nap Lajoie (Mears A8). But it's not for sale of trade. |
Nice Mark!
Not sure if I've seen or heard of many Lajoies out there so I also don't mind hearing what others have even if not for sale. Sounds like I need to start a show a tell thread on them:) |
