SCAM - 1967 Tom Seaver on ebay

Well, the only way I found this was I am selling a Seaver rookie (PSA 7) out here on the Forum and have been tracking sales.....When this listing popped up, I hit the watch button - never really looked too close at that time - and then got notification when it sold....it went really cheap....$760 for a Seaver Rookie PSA 7?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/15529199678...Bk9SR8rF2LecYQ

Problem is the Seller has ZERO feedback and is in Cyprus? I know there are a lot of Seaver fans out, but how many in Cyprus?? LOL...

The other thing I noticed that was odd was the back of the PSA case had a sticker with 1700 penned on it.....I remember there was another Seaver PSA 7 on this forum that recently sold that had that sticker and when I went and pulled it up, sure enough....its the card....

Scammer clipped the photos off of here and listed on ebay...

https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=327042

I hope no one here bought this card.....off of ebay that is...

Honestly, I would rather get taken with a fake card than to just be scammed out of money and left holding a non-existent bag. At least with a fake, you at least have SOMETHING that's tangible.

Wow, that was my card! (And I did not sell it to anyone in Cyprus haha.)

And one more time - a new scammer - Gorditadogg, your Seaver is very popular! Have reported this zero feedback seller to eBay, but the auction is still running…..geez…..

What would be great is if everyone on the forum bid on the card and pumped up the final sale price to over a few thousand dollars just to see if the seller would do when the auction was not paid for. The listing indicates the seller is from New York and indicates the following: enjoy with 50% off discount weckly buy from www.trendycards.shop check more tredny cards

Wow they never stop

But it seems to be removed now when I clicked on it it I said it was removed

Come on, guys. Give him a break. If scamming was easy, everyone would do it. :D

bmattioli 12-11-2022 02:35 PM

Asked seller to send me a picture of the card next to a coin. Doubtful.

Nice 1969 baseball set they have on their website. Erebody should flood their 'contact us' link on their website with non-sense messages.

make sure to answer in Yoda speak.

For example: What trendy cards do you have for sale?

Yoda speak: You have for sale what trendy cards do?

Fred, it's TREDNY. It's the word of the wek. Try to keep up with the lingo please.

But seriously, the auction seems to be back up, and it has real bidders this time.

I apologize if this has been discussed before, but is this a scam within a scam? You buy a card for $6.50 and $100 shipping cost, it's not as described so you complain and return it. They happily offer you a full refund of the purchase price ($6.50.)

That's what I was thinking. You end up getting screwed out of the original shipping but he provides a return label while sending an empty screw down plastic case. If he sends signature required it may actually work.
