I have nearly 4000 issues of The Sporting News, and am planning on selling them off one year at a time. I already sold all of my pre-1922 issues. From 1923 thru the early 1930s I have large grouping for each year, then starting in the early 1930s I have every issue thru the early 1990s (with a few exceptions).

If there are individual years that you have an interest in, I will get to them, but would of course be open to offers.

I will not break up the years, if you want Mantle's first cover, you need to take all of his box scores from his rookie year, too.

All issues from all years have been stored flat for nearly 20 years or so, in my office, in my house. Yes it's crowded in there, and the lovely wife makes me keep the door closed, she claims I'm a hoarder.

My intent is to sell every issue that I have from each year, but starting with this first group, which I thought would include 19 issues, but there are two that I either can't find, or maybe don't really have, so here we go with lot #1, of potentially 70+ lots, this one containing 17 different issues from 1924.

The pages of these 1924 issues are pliable and able to be turned (albeit carefully) for your reading enjoyment. I haven't gone thru each issue individually page by page, but I have generally looked thru them, and believe them to be complete.

Pictures are of :

1 - the top issue on the stack
2 - pages folded over to illustrate their flexibility
3/4 - a photo of George Sisler & Babe Ruth, and a box score from Hall Of Fame member High Pockets Kelly's 3 HR game that year; both meant to illustrate the treasures that await inside the pages of these issues.

I'm thinking ~~$450~~ ~~$400~~ ~~$350~~ $300 shipped is a fair price, although I have no idea what shipping will cost, so hopefully it doesn't bite me too much, and I'm not sure of the best way to ship. Flat would obviously make some sense, but I honestly think that rolled up in a shipping tube might be the safest way to do it.

Ultimately, I'll do whatever the buyer prefers.
