Net 54 B/S/T Success story - Milwaukee Old Judges
3 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I'm mostly a B/S/T member here who has often gone years between posting or buying - this I feel is mostly because I'd be broke otherwise. With the recent concerns of fraud on B/S/T posted by Leon and others, I thought it would be worthwhile to post a few pickups I've managed to get reasonably priced through our own B/S/T boards. Apologies if this should go in a November pickups thread, but figured a discussion on how to verify a member is legit and avoiding fraud would also be welcomed. Personally I like to collect a myriad of things - main focus is Roy Campanella, but I dabble in vintage Milwaukee / Wisconsin baseball. My recent focus has been more on Milwaukee Old Judges and thanks to several members on this board I was able to add the following over the past couple months. Also a minor plug for SGC. My first submission door to door including mailing was 15 days! I still have several to go to complete my journey but figured I would share some success and the knowledge that with a little research on the buyers part there are some GREAT members here with a wealth of knowledge and often are more eager to see someone complete their collecting goals rather than reach the top of VCP pricing. |
Beautiful cards! Congrats on the recent successes, there is nothing quite like collecting 19th century Baseball.

That Griffith looks familiar!!
You have a great eye for OJs. Contrast and clarity are far more important than technical grades. Congrats on your successful pick-ups. I’m glad I could help (a little). |
Yes, beautiful cards! Good luck on your Milwaukee collecting—some of the toughest cards in the set —Cusick, Davin, Stephens, McVey-Milwaukee, Struck error are all Milwaukee.

They are indeed beautiful cards, as well as little windows into a very different baseball world.
I too am a modest collector in this day and age. The pre-war cards I have acquired in the past 2 years have been through net54, and to be quite honest, I couldn't have done it or completed my 1953 Bowman set, without the help of those net54 members listed below with my signature. |
Nice Griffith. I've seen SO many Griffiths with light images. That one ain't bad at all.

Yes, gorgeous cards and great Milwaukee collection.

That is a really nice looking group of OJs. I love to hear of success stories! There are a lot of really great people on the forum.
