Dallas Card Show
Any Net54 folks going to be at the Dallas Card show today?
I'm planning on being there around noon and would love to meet some fellow members. Unfortunately, today is the only day I can make it. This will be the first card show I've ever gone to, looking forward to it! I'll be in a Blue Texas Rangers polo & white glasses. Matt |
I will be there at some point. I know SB1 is set up too....and I know a few old hobby friends that will be there. I will be the bald guy with glasses...

Let's go to Dallas!

There were some very nice cards at the show. SB1 as noted had a nice mix of modern material and some real nice eye candy.
Ryan Nolan, whose videos you can see under Breakout Cards, picked up or dealt with some absolutely awesome cards and rock and roll card/Stickers he picked up today at the show. Frankly, sometimes you just got to ASK if there is something you are looking for, *That's not my way either but there are some nice things at the show* Rich |
Is there a lot of vintage at the Dallas card shows? From the videos I've watched on YouTube regarding the show I assumed it was mainly shiny stuff.
|
The reason you see the shiny is that is what they promote. They use the you tubers to pack the people and the dealers in. Probably 80% of the show is new with the rest the more generic 1950's/60's stars etc.
I bring a nice selection of scarce pre-war vintage to 1970's material in all sports and non-sports. For the January show I will also have a few tables available in the starlight room in the block that we use. If a Net54er would like to set up shoot me a PM Scott |
And the best (or worst) part of being in Scott's "pod" is you will be directly across from our COMC table/booth. If that does not scare you, I'd love to see more Net 54 people in the room. The Starlight room is like an old-time card show and there is some but comparatively less of the happy shiny cards so there is that

FYI, good deals can be had on the last day at shows. The guy had 50 bucks on the Mays, above. I had no idea on pricing, honestly. I offered him 35 and he countered at 40. I held my ground and he said, ok, last day it's yours ... Hard negotiations right there! And, after looking at online sales, it was actually a pretty darned good deal LOL Topps cards here I come! . |
When I used to go to the Coral Square Mall shows (Coral Springs, Florida) in the 1990s, the last day (Sunday) was the day to go. I think I paid either $70 or $75 for my 1958 Mantle, after negotiations. Everyone was packing up to go home, and more willing to deal.
