Not a big fan of sales?

Or just not sales that exclude vintage?

Johnny630 11-01-2022 01:55 PM

I like it !!! I'm hoping $12 a card for vintage bulk this spring.

Now that I could get behind. The values are too low. Moderns stink. Not a fan. Need to have some vintage specials, or bump up the values.

Everything is going my way.

99 percent market share!! 3 guys on this board will be SGC's only customers. :D But they'll still be ranting about turnaround times.

luciobar1980 11-01-2022 02:31 PM

Yay.. the junk slab era continues

Well, I was going to send 20 modern cards in last week and never got around to it. I just saved $3/card. Hooray for procrastination! :D

This hurts me big time though.....I don't have ANY modern cards....but I have a few between 1980-1995.......It's a shame PSA can't seem to line the years up right.

Yes, I agree the jumping between 1995 and 1980 as the cut-off is annoying.

I wonder what the "estimated 120 days" turnaround will actually turn out to be...

The July specials have been coming back for over a month now so it doesn’t seem like a major issue anymore.

Nugen 11-01-2022 09:32 PM

Still waiting for reholder pricing to come back down. PSA has been sitting at $25/card. Dropped a box on tile floor trying to take off the lid and cracked 16 slabs.

<$10 per card really gets my attention. I have thousands upon thousands ready to go

At least the cards will be graded accurately!

I am thinking about switching to the dark side and taking by business over to PSA. I appreciate any help that you can offer:

1) are the turnaround times accurate? Economy says 45 -90 days, but then somewhere else it talks about "complete through date" which seems to mean it takes time just to make it into the system before the clock starts. Is this how it works? what is the backlog currently?

2) when PSA receives the package, do they at least acknowledge that they have the actual cards and confirm the list? I don't mind a long lag, but I at least want to know that they signed in my cards. I am not comfortable with my cards sitting for a month with simply a Post Office "delivered" confirmation.

3) If I have a stack of cards under $999 and a few more expensive, do I need to send separate submissions? the website price categories are based on card values, but it does not seem practical to have to make separate submissions.

My last two submissions have been faster than advertised. They were both $15 value submissions, both modern. The one that arrived at PSA on 11/7 was shipped back on 12/28. The one that arrived at PSA on 11/28 is already in QA2 and likely to pop/ship this week.

I always get an email when the package arrives. "The list" of cards you submitted doesn't come until they get through research and ID. Then they make the list available and ask you to check it.

I believe different price points you need to do different submissions, but you CAN ship multiple submissions to them in one package (there's an option to submit multiple together).

Good luck!
