RIP Maury Wills
Dodgers legend Maury Wills passed away today. It’s been a bittersweet year for the organization. I will always remember him riding around his oversized tricycle at the Dodgers Spring Training Complex at Camelback Ranch.
He came up as a rookie in 1959 helping the Dodgers win their first ring in Los Angeles that year and later became the 1962 National League MVP. He had contract disputes early in his career with Topps so his “rookie” card is his 1960 Bell Brand card. Most people don’t realize his first Topps card is on the 1960 Topps World Series card #389 which some people call his rookie card. Also pictured are his 1961 Morrell Meats card, his 1963 Fleer card, his 1971 Topps Greatest Moments card, and his 1960 Union Oil Volpe print. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...41d53efbd6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2860193dcd.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2672d79c96.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...52b6596dd6.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
