These were from "Shop at Home" which I understand sold a lot of fakes. They were bought in 1990 for $250 a set and the guy bought 5 sets. There is 4 for sale but they look pretty iffy to me. Any thoughts

I've never been able to tell with Williams, but Mays looks wrong to me and the Aaron and Mantle are both definitely bad.
|
Williams has both the open 'd' and the open 'a' in Williams, which, as far as I know are telltale signs of a forgery.
|
Williams, Mantle, and Aaron are garbage. I’ll defer on the Mays to others opinions.
|
Agree with Jason...
3 definite fakes, with Mays also being highly suspect (based on the source). |

My first thought is all bad. Use 'em for batting practice.

Agree. All are bad.

Sadly, We used to call poor ole Judy Lett & Shop at Home, "FAKE @ Home".
The plastic wrap is a tell tale sign as are the cartoonish Mantle and Williams signatures. The Star Aaron & Fleece Mop's are Almost there, but just off the mark. The good news is that you are the proud owner of a "Banana Mantle", so you go that going for ya. Sorry about that chief. Better to find out here than to hand over 4 beans to PSA or JSA though. :) |
Thank you all for input.
I do not own them they were just offered to me. I did not buy them. I mostly collect cards I thought they looked bad but I don't really do autographs. I enjoy the site thanks all |
