Homerun Trivia #2:

Even though nobody has answered the first one...this one may be a little more challenging:

Name the player whose 9th (inning) Homerun won a World Series opening game- he didn't start the next game, which his team lost; he hit a game-winning Homer in the 7th inning of the next game, which his team won, 1-0; again, he did not start in the next game, which his team, again, lost (correction: he did start, went 2-for-2, then was pinch it for???); he drove in his team's only run in the next game, which his team also lost; he did not start the final game, which they also lost.

PRETTY AMAZIN', HUH?

Who was this player?

I cheated and looked it up and was amazed who it is, but there is one minor flaw in your description, he did start Game #4 going 2 for 2 with two walks but was oddly pinch hit for in the ninth inning.

YES!

Cliff- I'll look back...sorry, it was late. I also added 'inning' to the description of the first homerun...

That was a good hint. I thought maybe someone on the '73 Mets before the answer hit me.
