1929 Philadelphia Athletics - World Series Champions
5 Attachment(s)
Any fans of the 1929 World Series Champion Philadelphia Athletics? Any pictures, autographs or memorabilia to share? I only have one item, a 1929 A's team signed baseball, graded a PSA 5 which is pretty cool. I hope you enjoy it.
Let's see some stuff! I know there are some cool items out there. |
Really nice! Love the uniform blue ink. That's a bit harsh IMO, grading it a 5. Looks more like a 6-7 to me! Great Ball of an important team!

I agree with Mark, beautiful ball!
The 1929 A's were arguably one of the greatest teams ever!! The top photo is of Lefty Grove in 1929. The album page signed in fountain pen is from the same era. My framed piece that incorporates the aforementioned album page features a photo of Lefty Grove that I believe might be from 1931. Mark, if I'm not mistaken, I bought the 1931 era photo from you a few years ago...;) |
Great items! The ticket stub with the photo is fantastic.
Thanks for the comments on the ball. I thought a 5 was pretty harsh also. It is so clean to be from that era. |
What PSA grades it doesn't really matter. The fact that it's beautiful, clean and 100% authentic is all that matters. Heck, I would give that ball a "9", compared to most others that have survived the years.
Scott- That's correct... I remember it well. I posted the Grove Photo on the BST and you snapped it up that same day. It perfectly compliments your ticket and Grove Auto, which is a "10" in my book (not that numerical grades should even be assigned to these treasures). I wish PSA would simply authenticate, and leave their number grading to cards. Regardless, I really love Grove's early ornate sig! Gorgeous piece. |
