Interesting baseball at Mears...lot 236....Baseball is authenticated by JSA as being signed by Ernie Banks and also on the ball is written in a different hand #508---September 5, 1970. The ball is an official Charles Feeney game used ball and dates to the correct timeframe according to the Official Baseball Guide book.
Looking back, Banks did hit a 2 run homer that day at Wrigley Field off of Jerry Koosman in the bottom of the ninth inning but the Cubs still lost to the Mets 5-3. Banks 509th homer would come several days later and that ball sold in 2016 in an SCP auction. I would think the owner of that baseball would have a big interest in this one as well.
