With new records constantly being set, I'm curious where the T2o6 savants believe this astounding T2o6 set would rank if put up for auction ?

North of half a mil. I'd say more but a near set of high grade T206 just went for only $189k in Heritage the other day. Very nice set, although missing some key cards. Someone got as bargain at that price.

That set was not high grade. It was an average of 3.7 which is VG+. It was also missing a lot. It only had 495 cards and 2 Cobbs were the only keys. This set is 521 cards with lots of Drum, Broadleaf and other rare backs. With research one could put a good value on it, but off the top of my head I would think it is north of 2 million.

+1

The reality is that, given all of its rare and unique combos, Sonny’s set is likely worth more broken up than sold as a single a set. Regardless, I put it at $2mm++ all day long

Not that it’s necessarily what the OP is asking, but I think the next card to get over $1mm is the T210 Jackson

Agree with both, that it would be north of $2 million (if not significantly more). Would love to see it go above all the rest of that "shiny new stuff." It blows my mind that someone would potential pay more for a single Luca Doncic card than this 110+ year old masterpiece of a collection. I also agree it would take some research to piece together a good value on the set...James (53toppscollector), you up for another t2o6 research project? 😉

Breaking it down, at 2 million the average cost per each T206 card would be around $4000. Not that I am disputing that this incredible set isn't worth it at today's evaluations, but dang, where has our hobby gone!

Brian (while I gently weep over my W9316 and 1943 MP & Co. cards that only a nutty von nuttikin would consider paying money for)

A better question is how the guy who spent $4.1 million on the Trout is feeling now. Trout is only 31 and it looks like his career is declining fast. Trout and Judge are almost the same age—who would you want on your team now?

Neither.
I'd take Ty Cobb & Honus Wagner

LOL, I don’t think either hit very well anymore.

Trout - have you seen Trout’s performance since coming off the IL?
